![]() My Folks: Had this large finished basement with pool table and a full wood Bar that my Dad built, and sofa's, and TV, and stereo...and bar lights. They have a nice circle of friends and often would have Friday get-togethers and Johnny was often watched. Between Johnny and my Dad, I think this is where my sense of humor comes from. |

![]() Ed McMann would do live spots for Hamm's Beer and often the commercials were also the cartoon Hamm's Bear and the indian drum theme. |

![]() The First Sip of beer your Dad gives you is one you always remember....Hamm's. And frankly, it's still damn good beer! |

![]() Johnny Carson ran the show with a high level of intergrity and it was clean humor, but ALWAYS funnier than def Comedy Jam, or others. I grew up watching him and his WONDERFUL show, and the people my folks had over often, were the same brand of people...mature, upstanding, gracious, and a fine sense of humor...dignified! Often in my room thru high school, I had The Tonight Show playing on the T.V. and watched it before going to sleep. And years beyond..... So, when you wonder what all the fuss was about when the show ended, and later.... I guess you'd of had to have been there. If you enjoy DVD collecting I REALLY encourage you to get "The Johnny Carson Ultimate Collection" that just got released showing the best of the 60's thru 1990's, and the last 2 shows. Johnny was the last of his kind, and a measure of elegant dignity, and intelligence with full bodied humor that is gone, and won't be recaptured. |
