I APPRECIATE YOUR COMING IN HERE-BECAUSE I'D LIKE YOUR HELP, PLEASE. I was notified (in a very nice/friendly manner) by Christine from a major site/magazine that one of my manipulated images used the work of a copyrighted artist that they feature, and, that the manipulation was not to the point that it could be construed to be a "NEW WORK" and so, the copyright was very much in violation and I needed to remove the image. (it has gone bye-bye) |

![]() Now, I want to repeat, she was not Snarky about it, and, showed herself as a true Lady in the way she handled it, and as a caring person who knew I'd put a lot of work into this site, and she looked thru it, and made suggestions to me of other areas I needed to re-examine. In Truth, it was the WAY she spoke softly-and kept the Big Stick hidden- that was the motivation to make changes. That and the fact that I knew Chrisitne is an Artist herself (and a Damn fine one) so, I tried to step back, and see things from her side of the monitor screen. That's why I'm trying to make changes. NOW I KNOW THIS IS THE PART OF ANY SITE PEOPLE DON'T USUALLY READ...BUT PLEASE READ IT ALL... BECAUSE I REALLY AM ASKING FOR YOUR HELP IN SOME AREAS ...1,000's OF EXTRA EYES OUT THERE THAT CAN SPOT SOMETHING THAT I'M MISSING AND COVERING THE NET IN A FEW MINUTES Vs ME SEARCHING FOR HOURS ON END. |

![]() When you get to the end of this page there will be 2 links-please go there and read these pages. They are friendly and informative in a good way. ![]() We all use animated gifs & things from all over the web, and I'm no exception. And we all use images because they seem to be widely used anyway, and, who's going to invest the $$$ in trying to sue a little personal site that makes no profit? That's generally true, but we/I still should be finding the owners if we/I can and ask for a "OKAY". I also learned that changing an image to make it a "new" work means it would have to be so distorted from the original, or, using one little segment of an image that is so non-distinct, that it can't be identified with the original-HARD to do. |
