![]() This is a poem leftover from the original site. It was simply me taking the (2) verses from the song Sarah Jessica Parker sings in the film: "Hocus Pocus", and adding some insert-verses that I wrote myself. I liked the song very much but it was too damn short - so I took a shot at beefing it up with more segments. The page that all poetry(s) were posted on was called "Poe" meaning short for "Poe-Try" I added these verses almost 8 years ago and the whole time, lots (!) of folks liked my little addendum to the song - but there was always this constant debate as to whether the original lyrics were written by Edgar Allen Poe....just because the page title was "poe"-try. I even had to add a long-assed notice to the poem about where it started from and what I added, and that it was NOT from dear old Mr. Poe.....shows you that folks seldom read the fine details. Then 01-01-09 while surfing the other people at YouTube (I have an account there also) I stumbled across the above item and the YouTube below. It was so cool to see that people still liked what I'd added, and here was a young lady singing it! As much as I loved the original few verses from the film, to hear this lovely voice singing it with my little "beef up" and seeing my portion of the work played out like that....wow...what a total treat for me! My YouTube name is "GothicIowegian" for that account and I've PM'd her asking for her Okay to post this.....and she's cool with that. UPDATE: the YouTube was deleted, so I've saved her audo clip and you can play it below. I added/wrote all lyrics begining with- "follow sweet children-" |
